Starbucks is planning to open a new location in south Sioux Falls.

The coffee chain has permitted space at 505 W. 85th St., which is a retail center in front of Walmart that includes Urban Chislic.

“We think the growing number of people who live and work in south Sioux Falls, Harrisburg and other neighboring communities will love having Starbucks on 85th Street,” said Raquel Blount of Lloyd Cos., who represents Starbucks in Sioux Falls.

“We anticipate this being a popular location for them.”

Starbucks will have a drive-thru and plans to open in spring.

It’s the latest of several announced new locations, including one on the west side of Sioux Falls at 41st Street and Ellis Road and one in the northwest in front of Walmart.
