Restaurant Roundup: Fat Kid Filly’s contest, new brunch menu, fish specials for Lent

March 10, 2022

Fat Kid Filly’s is getting ready to open a restaurant in Sioux Falls sometime this year, and it’s using a social media contest to build interest. Whoever guesses the correct location on its Facebook page will win a free Filly, a spin on a Philly cheesesteak, each week for the rest of their life. If more than one person picks the right spot, owner Cody Sauers said he’ll draw for the winner. The business, which started as a food truck, expanded into event venues and now has FatKid Saloon in Salem, continues to grow. Sauers said he expects to add a second racetrack – this one in Minnesota – to the locations where Fat Kid Filly’s are served. One recent expansion has ended. Fat Kid Filly’s no longer operates the kitchen at On the Rocks in Valley Springs.
