Eide Bailly’s new downtown Sioux Falls office is designed to create a workplace optimized for teams.

Located on the fourth and fifth floors of The Bancorp Building, 345 S. Reid St. at the expanded Cherapa Place development, Eide Baily’s office replaces its longtime downtown space and represents the chance to build an ideal setting from the ground up.

“There’s a lot of excitement with the new office,” said Jim Jarding, Eide Bailly tax partner and market leader for Sioux Falls. “People are energized to be here.”

New and improved layout

The space offers a more functional, efficient and enjoyable layout for the 140-person Sioux Falls team.

“In our old space, we were spread across multiple floors, and we had to go through elevators to move between them. This layout is much more inclusive with an open stairwell, so the flow among our team will be much better,” Jarding said.

“Within our offices, we’ve actually optimized the space because we’ve gone paperless, so we don’t need as much room for storage.”

Instead, there’s more space for team members to work together or meet with clients.

“We have more collaborative areas, especially for those without dedicated offices,” Jarding said.

“For clients, we have more conference rooms, including the capacity to interact virtually. We put a lot of technology we didn’t have before into those rooms.”

Employees enjoy height-adjustable desks, and those without dedicated offices have lockers for easy storage.

New marketplace, ideal setting

A spacious work cafe provides additional space to work together or catch up over lunch or on a break.

“We’ve got a new marketplace with all kinds of food and beverage choices, and it serves as a community gathering spot,” Jarding said.

“We’re excited to add patio space for an outdoor option, along with the shared event space and rooftop patio we can use as a tenant of the building.”

The location is ideal, he added.

“There are so many apartments right in this development or nearby, offering an option to live close to work and avoid a commute if you enjoy that lifestyle,” Jarding said.

“The amenities coming here – more retail, food and beverage options – plus the riverfront location and courtyard are going to create a complete experience for our team. They’re going to be in the center of a lot of new things happening downtown.”

Eide Bailly’s work schedule allows for two work-from-home days each week, with the option for some with permission to work remotely more often.

“But what we’re finding is that people are excited about this new space and look forward to working here,” Jarding said. “We had some people who were committed to working more remotely decide they’d like to be hybrid so they can enjoy the new office.”
