Nerdy consignment shop, retro gaming lounge to move

April 23, 2021

An “all things nerdy” consignment shop and gaming lounge will be closed for a month while the businesses move to a larger location.

Nrdvana and Nrdy Brdy Lounge are relocating from a retail center at 49th Street and Western Avenue to a building on the northeast corner of 26th Street and Cliff Avenue, next to Sioux Falls Bicycle Co.

The final day at 2111 W. 49th St. is Sunday, and owner Patrick Wilson plans to have the new spaces ready June 1.

“I’m super excited about making the move,” said Wilson, who started Nrdvana one year ago and expanded with the retro gaming lounge in January. “We’re going to have two separate locations side by side, one focusing primarily on gaming and enjoying the nerdom of actually having your friends around and enjoying some libations, and the other just focusing on sales and customer service.”

The new spaces, former locations of a flower shop and job services center, are twice as big as the current ones, Wilson said.

He plans to seek a beer and wine license for Nrdy Brdy, which will have separate gaming rooms. In addition to console gaming, the lounge offers board games and hosts trading card tournaments.

While the relocation takes place, Nrdvana will continue to accept consignment merchandise and sell it on eBay and other online outlets.
