Tina Graber, an adoption specialist at Children’s Home Society of South Dakota, has been named a 2025 Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Recruiter of the Year by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Graber has worked at CHS for almost nine years.
Children’s Home Society has added two staff members.

Hope Perini is the director of compliance. She has more than 15 years of experience in mental health, program and project management, and health and wellness, including positions with Community Behavioral Health and the Department of Defense. She also spent six years advocating for military families affected by domestic violence.
Heather Powell is the vice president of human resources. She previously served as chief experience officer at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire for three years.

Two South Dakota-based companies, Daktronics and Pathward, have been included on the 2025-26 Best Companies To Work For list from U.S. News & World Report.

Nicole Blackburn has been promoted to purchasing manager at JDS Industries. She began her career at JDS in 2006 as a customer service representative and has advanced through several roles, most recently serving as senior buyer.

Raeco Builders has attained AC478 Accreditation – a standard administered by the International Accreditation Service and promoted by the Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association. Requirements for accreditation include documented management systems, rigorous safety training, quality managers, OSHA training, documented safety plans, site-specific plans and other documentation. AC478 accredited companies are subjected to annual internal audits and management reviews. Raeco Builders is the first metal building assembler based in South Dakota to obtain the AC478 accreditation and one of fewer than 25 companies nationwide.

Dawn Van Nieuwenhuyzen of Plains Commerce Bank has been named a top loan originator by South Dakota Housing along with six others across the state. The organization also honored the top five lending institutions: Plains Commerce Bank, First Premier Bank, First Bank & Trust, Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp. and First International Bank & Trust.

Tammy Hatting
The South Dakota State Medical Association has named Tammy Hatting as its next CEO. Hatting will begin her role July 7. She will replace Barb Smith, who is retiring after serving the organization since 2000. Hatting has served as the chief operating officer for the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations for seven years. Before that, she was the director of innovation for Avera eCARE and worked in northwest Iowa hospitals and clinics as a patient relations manager and admissions manager.
