Local businesses sought as vendors for upcoming South Dakota Showcase

Oct. 4, 2021

This paid event listing is sponsored by the South Dakota Department of Tourism.

Does your business represent South Dakota in the form of art, food, recreation or more? Consider becoming a vendor at the upcoming South Dakota Showcase.

Held on Oct. 22 and 23 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, the event is “looking for vendors of all shapes and sizes who represent all of South Dakota. We want to showcase everything that makes South Dakota so special – from our gifted artists and artisans to local chefs and bakers, from outdoor hunting vendors to golf, motorcycles, RVs, ATVs, campers and autos,” Tourism Secretary Jim Hagen said.

“This is an opportunity to truly feature a broad swath of vendors. We also think this is the perfect event to feature simulation games for kids, whether that be golfing, shooting a virtual bow and arrow or quick-draw games, etc.”

The Showcase is held in conjunction with the Governor’s Invitational Pheasant Hunt, an annual economic development event that brings together out-of-state and in-state business leaders along with state and community leaders.

This year, the expanded Showcase is expected to draw a crowd beyond hunting and fishing enthusiasts, so businesses can reach South Dakotans of all ages.

This is the second year for the Showcase, and Hagen said there will be increased regional promotion and free admission, so vendors will have a well-attended event. The marketing plan calls for reaching 2.8 million impressions with a heavy presence on radio, in online articles, in targeted emails and on social media.

The Showcase also is looking for an official sponsor, who will receive highly prominent mentions in marketing. If you are interested in being the premier sponsor of the South Dakota Showcase, please contact Hagen at [email protected].

“In addition, we dropped the price of a booth to the lowest level possible in order to entice as many vendors and exhibitors as we can,” he said.

The fee for a 10-by-10-foot booth space is $300, and exhibitors may request up to six spaces. Payment is not needed at the time you apply, but you will be sent an invoice once your application is approved. Applications will be reviewed by the South Dakota Department of Tourism, and confirmation will be made within one week of receipt.
