Hegg opens in larger new building

April 26, 2018

Hegg Realtors has moved most of its team into one new building after being spread among three offices across the city.

The new two-story space at 6225 S. Minnesota Ave. has about 130 people working there and has enough space for an additional 30 or 40.

Hegg, which is owned by Bill Hegg and Gregg Gohl, has 185 total agents in the area, with a couple of teams working from their own offices and locations in Brandon and Hartford.

“We love it. We love the location, it’s good exposure, and it’s just nice to have everyone working together,” Hegg said. “That’s the big thing. Getting the agents, staff and management team together just makes it easier for everybody and creates more energy.”

The new office includes an agent lounge, training center and multiple spaces where agents can drop in, plug in and work or meet with clients.

“It’s been great,” Gohl said. “It’s a much nicer space for us and easily accessible. I think agents and staff have been pleasantly surprised.”

The new office also is strategically located in south-central Sioux Falls, near much of the city’s real estate activity.

“That was a key for us,” Gohl said. “For a residential real estate company, you want to be located in the midst of the business you do.”

Former Hegg offices are being leased. The one at 2804 E. 26th St. eventually will become a dental center but will be subleased in the meantime. The office behind that is the new location for The Compass Center. The building at 1000 E. 41st St. is close to being leased, Hegg said.
