Chick-fil-A nears end of construction

Aug. 18, 2021

The signs are up, the inside is almost done, and it won’t be long before Chick-fil-A opens its first Sioux Falls location.

Mainly site work is left at the Empire Place location on West 41st Street, according to Clinton Fraley, project manager at Kentucky-based Buffalo Construction Inc.

“The concrete drive-thru and sidewalks are being poured this week and next week,” he said. “Kitchen equipment is going in Monday, furniture in two weeks.”

The plan is to turn the building over to the operator before mid-September, and after that, it’s generally a couple of weeks until opening.

Chick-fil-A will be the latest addition to the increasingly busy retail center, which drew crowds out the door when Crumbl Cookies opened in late July.
