The first 7 Brew drive-thru coffee concept has opened in Sioux Falls.

The new stand-alone building is at 3707 S. Louise Ave. on The Empire Mall campus.

7 Brew offers more than 20,000 unique drink combinations. The menu includes classic hot and iced coffee drinks, as well as cold brew, energy drinks, teas, lemonades, smoothies and shakes.

A friends and family event offering free small drinks drew long lines over the weekend. The same offer is good today through Friday during “community hours,” which are 8 to 9 a.m., noon to 1 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m.

On Saturday, customers who purchase a large drink will receive a free 7-Brew T-shirt.

Through Sunday, any customer who purchases a $25 gift card will receive a free drink card. The idea is to encourage gift cards for Mother’s Day and appreciation weeks for teachers and nurses.

The Sioux Falls location is franchised by the Oberg family. Operating partner Chase Oberg grew up in the franchise world. His father, Ron, now managing partner, has more than 20 decades of experience franchising. Among Ron Oberg’s holdings are the two Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers locations in Sioux Falls — one of which is also along Louise on the mall’s campus. Operating partner Alex Carney also has extensive experience with quick-service restaurants.

The Obergs could open multiple locations in Sioux Falls and have said they see opportunities for expansion into other South Dakota markets, including Mitchell, Brookings, Watertown and Aberdeen.

Hiring for the first Sioux Falls store essentially is done, but applicants can continue to submit information online, managers said.

Hours are 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
