Wine shop to close

By Rosemary McCoy

The Little Cellar Wine Company is going out of business.

Dale Zuraff opened the wine shop 16 years ago, and Seth and Mary Trudeau bought it from him two years ago.

“We are looking at other opportunities,” Seth Trudeau said.

Their lease at The River Plaza, 2425 S. Shirley Ave., runs through December, and they’re expecting to close sometime that month but haven’t set a firm date.

“We’ll do some sales and then have a final weekend,” Trudeau said.

The wine, liquor and beer is marked 25 percent off, and other merchandise is 50 percent off. The business also is selling most of the furniture and fixtures.

The Trudeaus moved the business from a shared building with Coffea Roasterie on South Louise Avenue to its current location in March. The Little Cellar Wine Company originally started in another space at The River Plaza, and at one time had a second location in Park Ridge Galleria, Trudeau said.
