Whole Foods Market could get to Sioux Falls

May 23, 2018

As Whole Foods Market continues to grow post-Amazon acquisition, Sioux Falls could be in its expansion plans.

“I think they’re going to have some healthy growth,” said David Zoba, board chairman of JLL, the nation’s largest third-party retail property manager.

“I think they feel like they’re a much more financially solid company than a year ago, and they’re going to be a survivor and a grower.”

Whole Foods has looked at Sioux Falls sites in the past.

According to someone familiar with the chain, “They’re gearing up to add more stores to better capitalize on internet grocery.”

The newest Whole Foods store will open next month in Lancaster, Pa. The city population is about one-third of Sioux Falls, but the metro area is twice as large.
