“What do you know about this diet?”

“Why is it that I struggle to get any results?”

“Does healthy food have to be bland and boring?”

GreatLIFE’s Austin Kjergaard hears those questions a lot.

As the East Sioux Falls fitness manager and GreatLIFE’s nutrition lead, he works with many GreatLIFE members seeking to become more active and live a healthier lifestyle.

And nutrition plays a key role in that.

“What we can do for GreatLIFE members is offer advice, support and accountability,” Kjergaard said.

GreatLIFE provides lots of help and expertise for those who need a little extra guidance when it comes to nutrition.

There are seminars. There’s a recommend book on nutrition. There’s a nutrition component to GreatLIFE’s transformational challenges. There’s even a new Facebook page dedicated to nutrition.

GreatLIFE’s experts can offer tips on everything from food prep to popular diets.

“If people want to meet with the nutrition lead, they can set up an appointment, and the nutrition lead can help create more accountability for the member to help them stay on track with their nutrition goals,” Kjergaard said.

GreatLIFE’s Woodlake and Performance Center locations also offer lots of healthy food options, from premade Eat Fit Go meals to snacks and protein-packed Be Right Bites. The Woodlake EnerG Bar offers healthy smoothies perfect for a post-workout treat.

“We need to pay attention to what we eat because food is what helps our body run its biological process,” Kjergaard said.

“The human body cannot outwork a bad diet as it will always catch up to a person in the end. Our bodies will function more effectively and efficiently if we feed it properly, and that can only be achieved by proper nutrition. For these reasons, we need to pay attention to our nutrition so we can help improve and maintain our recovery, cell function, longevity and decrease the risk of certain diseases.”

The GreatLIFE nutrition page will include content on how to be efficient with food preparation, recipes, nutrition Q&As, tips for how to stay on track while traveling and eating out, plus support for people who struggle with diet.
