The sports retailer A League of Your Own is closing.

Owner Kathryn Macziewski opened the store five years ago. She moved it across the street to 218 S. Phillips Ave. last year.

“I’ve spent much time thinking about my future and, unfortunately, the store no longer fits into my plans,” Macziewski said.

“I want to thank my family, friends, employees and especially customers for their patronage. It has truly meant the world to me. I know many of them by their favorite teams and have come to consider them friends. It’s with a heavy heart that I announce I’ll be closing.”

The store carries sports-themed apparel, accessories and gift items. It will be reducing inventory, and customers are encouraged to use gift cards as soon as possible. Decor and fixtures also are for sale.

The last day will be March 10. The space has been leased, and Macziewski said a new retailer will be announced soon.
