Sioux Steel to hold second public meeting on downtown project

July 27, 2018

Sioux Steel will hold another public meeting to discuss its planned downtown redevelopment.

It will be held Aug. 7 at Josiah’s downtown from 4:30 to 7 p.m. with a formal presentation at 5:30 p.m.

Sioux Steel CEO and president Scott Rysdon would like to continue to seek input from the public, said Jon Jacobson, principal at Confluence, who is helping with the development plan.

The plan for the site hasn’t been finalized and development partners have not been selected, he said.

The meeting will review public feedback and take input on potential programming.

Sioux Steel has been located on 11 acres north of Sixth Street since 1918. The plan is to relocate the manufacturing operation and turn the downtown property into a mix of commercial and residential development.
