Nyberg’s Ace Hardware owner Kevin Nyberg was among those honored by the U.S. Small Business Administration on Wednesday at its annual awards.

Nyberg was named the Small Business Person of the Year for South Dakota.

Others honored include:

• Family-Owned Small Business of the Year: The Jackson family of Haegle’s Western Wear and Tack, Sioux Falls.
• Financial Services Advocate of the Year: Paula Hulscher, executive vice president of the First District Development Company, Watertown.
• Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year: Travis and Sarah Hendrix of Tiger Tots Preschool & Child. Center Inc., Harrisburg.
• Young Entrepreneur of the Year: Laura Benson of Filly Flair Inc., Baltic.
• Small Business Champion of the Year: Beth Davis.

Lender awards:

• 7(a) Volume Lender of the Year: Wells Fargo Bank NA.
• 504 Volume Lender of the Year: Dakota Business Finance.
• Leadership Circle Award: First District Development Company and The First National Bank in Sioux Falls.
• Rural Lender Award: First District Development Company.
