Sam’s Club plans $3.7 million remodeling project

From staff reports

Sam’s Club plans to do a complete remodeling project of its store on South Louise Avenue.

The membership-only warehouse chain that’s part of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is asking the city of Sioux Falls for a building permit for a $3.7 million project.

According to the application, the work will include remodeling the bakery, fresh meat preparation and cooler areas. Sam’s Club also is going to create a walk-in cooler where shoppers can select their produce.

The project will include a new look for the entrance, too.

The store will remain open while the work is done.

Sam’s Club has been in Sioux Falls at 3201 S. Louise Ave. since 1991.
