Sioux Falls lost RibFest after 20 years but gained PorkPalooza, which is Friday and Saturday in the parking lot at 8th & Railroad Center. Organizers are billing the inaugural event as a showcase of local barbecue, beer, producers and music. Tickets for Friday night’s whole hog roast and Dueling Duo concert are $30. Reserve a seat by messaging organizers on PorkPalooza’s Facebook page. Admission on Saturday is free, and the event runs from 11 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. Six South Dakota-based barbecue vendors will be selling food, and six bands will take their turn on the stage from morning until night.

Look’s Market is celebrating the start of summer with Rosé Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The longtime meat market and specialty grocery store will be selling different wines by the glass or bottle. Several Rosé-flavored food items will be for sale, including sausages, floats and a grilled pound cake. Fernson Brewing Co. is making a special beer too. Infinite Revolutions will provide music, and Posh Boutique will have a pop-up shop. Look’s is in Heather Ridge Village at 69th and Western.
