Recycle and save this holiday season with tons of dining, retail rewards

Nov. 20, 2018

This paid piece is sponsored by Novak Sanitary Service.

Whether you’re preparing a holiday feast, grabbing a meal on the go or doing some gift shopping, recycling with Novak Sanitary Service can help you save along the way.

Earlier this year, Novak started a new partnership with Recycling Perks, a company that works with area businesses to offer you rewards every time you recycle.

It’s very simple for Novak customers to sign up. If you haven’t yet, click here.

Then, every time you recycle, the points start adding up. You receive 50 points each time recycling is collected.

“We’d like all our customers signed up because it’s free for you,” Novak general manager Mike Herbst said. “Our partner base has grown significantly, and that’s continuing to grow.”

The favorites

So far, one of the most popular rewards goes right back to lowering your garbage bill.

Novak customers can receive $5 off their trash bill just by redeeming 25 points.

“It saves our customers on service and is a good deal,” Herbst said. “That’s one of our heaviest-used perks.”

Another popular reward – easy to see why – is a coupon for buy-one-get-one loaves of Breadsmith bread. That’s just 25 points, too.

“Our partnership with Novak Sanitary’s Recycling Perks program is a win all around, supporting local business and community members by providing a reward for those who recycle,” said Susie Patrick, owner of Breadsmith in Sioux Falls.

The response from those who have redeemed their perks for Breadsmith bread has been very positive, and we are pleased to be a part of the program.”

Remember that when it comes time to add bread to the holiday meal!

Want to save on other additions to the feast? You can save $5 off $25 or $10 off $50  at Cheese World, $5 off $50 at The Co-Op Natural Foods, and there are several discounts at Meat Lodge.

Deck the halls

Getting your home ready for the holidays?

Recycling Perks will buy you 20 percent off a fireplace tune-up from Fireplace Professionals.

You can save 20 percent off your carpet cleaning of $100 or more with Ultimate Carpet Cleaning.

And for those needed repairs or holiday decorating additions, cash in with $5 off $25 at Nyberg’s Ace.

Shop and save

Your holiday shopping dollars will stretch farther once you redeem Recycling Perks.

For just 25 points, you’ll save $5 off $20 at Country ‘N More Gifts, $5 off $40 at Play It Again Sports, 10 percent off $20 at Game Chest and $5 off $25 at the Great Outdoor Store. Fifty points saves you a lucky 17 percent at Mrs. Murphy’s Irish Gifts and 10 percent off at MK Threads Boutique.

Dining out

Need to grab a meal on the go this holiday season?

Take $5 off $25 at Tinner’s with a Recycling Perks reward, $5 off $25 at Camille’s Sidewalk Cafe or $3 off $10 at Swamp Daddy’s Cajun Kitchen.

You can recharge with a free small brewed coffee or fountain soda at Bagel Boy for just 25 points.

And satisfy your sweet tooth with a reward for half off at Flyboy Donuts after 11 a.m. or a free gelato with a meal at Boki European Street Food.

The bigger impact

The best part about Recycling Perks: You save while local businesses receive support.

Since starting the program, Novak estimates it has had a more than $30,000 economic impact.

“That’s what it’s designed to do,” Herbst said. “It rewards people for recycling and in turn helps the community.”

There are many more rewards to discover at Recycling Perks! To sign up, click here.
