Spring is here!
Historically, April is the beginning of a real estate sales surge. It can also be a time of renewal for many, either from a spiritual perspective or a physical presence of Mother Nature. Regardless, we all seem to come alive as the days grow longer, and more people begin to wonder if it’s the time for change.
This year could be a fruitful year for real estate activity. Sellers and buyers are experiencing greater satisfaction than we have seen for years. Mortgage rates, although slightly higher, are still attractive, and sellers in all price categories have finally recovered from the 2007 crash. Sellers can sell their home and have enough net cash to move forward, while buyers are still getting a good value with what they purchase.
Even though inventories are slightly below normal and fairly priced homes sell quickly, the selection is still good, giving both sellers and buyers an opportunity of choice. It’s been difficult for many sellers this past decade, but they are now feeling relief and optimism as they approach this year with caution. They are discovering opportunities of matching their new house to their present lifestyle.
The goal for most homeowners is to align their present and near-future lifestyle with the proper house. Times change, our needs change, and so should the house. Move-up buyers are looking for more space and are feeling more confident about the economy; therefore, they find this time as an opportunity of moving forward and adding to their comfort.
Those who have too big a house, with their children raised, might be looking to downsize, saving money, minimizing maintenance and finding freedom to enjoy life more and do the things they have put off for years.
This timing is what many people have been waiting for, and no one knows how long the balanced opportunity will last. We have a process that is designed to help you maximize your opportunities and save you money — all the while giving you peace of mind knowing you are doing the right thing at the right time.
