Perkins unveils its new look
March 30, 2018
Diners at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery are enjoying their pancakes, patty melts and pies in new surroundings at the 41st Street location near the Western Mall.
The restaurant was closed for 10 days while crews remodeled everything except the kitchen. The only thing that didn’t change is the ceiling and the tile in the entrance area, said franchise owner Steve Kuper.
“Everybody seems to like it,” he said. “It’s clean, it’s fresh, it’s brighter. It’s very nice.”
The chain gives franchise owners a few decor styles to pick from, and Kuper added his own touches with local and regional artwork.
The last remodel was 10 years ago, said Kuper, who took over the restaurant from his father about 30 years ago. It opened in 1970.
