Party America opens in expanded space

Sept. 6, 2018

An aisle filled with party favors, a massive balloon wall and a powdered candy dispenser are some of the fun features inside the expanded Party America, which opened over Labor Day weekend.

The party supply store moved across 41st  Street from the space it occupied for almost 25 years.

The new location is 13,000 square feet in the retail center that includes Fareway. It’s part of the former Hobby Lobby space.

Owner Dave Hoffman said customers began coming in as soon as the doors opened.

“People really like it,” he said. “Everyone walks through almost mesmerized.”

One area that already is popular is an aisle with hundreds of party favors, including some sold in bulk.

The signature balloon wall has made the trip across the street too and is even bigger.

“By the time it’s all said and done, we’ll have 1,500 balloons,” Hoffman said.

While the store is mostly set up, a seasonal area for Halloween is still taking shape.

After that’s done, the store will add more toys.

“We increased basically every category,” Hoffman said.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
