A new shop offering Herbalife protein shakes and other drinks has opened on the east side of Sioux Falls.

Wave 26 Nutrition is in a retail center on the southeast corner of 26th Street and Sycamore Avenue. It’s owned by Dave Hasvold and his wife, Kelly.

“Basically, it’s a meal replacement or a snack,” Hasvold said of the protein shakes. Some customers use the drinks as part of a weight-loss regimen and others incorporate them into a healthy diet, he said.

The shop will serve 30 recipes for the 20-ounce shakes ranging from cake batter to monster cookie, or customers can create a customized drink.

Wave 26 Nutrition also serves teas that can be boosted to aid with digestion and energy, Hasvold said. They come in the size of a shot or a full drink.

In addition, the shop offers drinks with Herbalife24 nutritional supplements, which athletes use to help with rehydration or rebuild muscle after a workout.

“It almost tastes like Gatorade without all the sugar,” Hasvold said.

Customers can buy the Herbalife products at Wave 26 Nutrition if they want to make the drinks at home.

Two other shops in Sioux Falls serve Herbalife drinks – one in the central part of the city and the other near The Empire Mall – so the location should be convenient for people on the east side, he said.

Wave 26 Nutrition, 4525 E. 26th St., is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays. Hasvold said the shop will be open occasionally in the evening and on the weekend and he’ll promote those hours on social media.
