A new restaurant focusing on juice drinks and treats found in Latin American countries has opened at 10th Street and Cliff Avenue.

Jacky’s Tropical Delights and Juices is operated by Maria Marroquim, who is the sister of Jacky Vanloh of Jacky’s Restaurants. Marroquim has worked in her sister’s restaurants for more than a decade and is excited to be running her own shop.

The drink menu includes chamoyadas, which are Latin-style snow cones, popsicle-like helados de fruitas naturales, shaved ice, smoothies, milkshakes and fruit-flavored waters. For food, Marroquim makes tostadas, sandwiches and crepes filled with fruit or other sweet ingredients. She also sells pastries and cakes.

Marroquim said juice bars are popular in the family’s homeland of Guatemala.

She plans to be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
