Taking Mom out to eat on Mother’s Day is a given. But with a seemingly never-ending array of options, how can you tell which meal is the best match this May 12? Here’s how to start.

Is your mom …

The trend-setter

Is your mom always in the know and first to try a new place to dine? Take her on a tropical getaway without leaving Sioux Falls at Turks & Caicos Cabana Grille.

The Sunday brunch is always a hit with families, but Mother’s Day means even more deliciousness, starting with an assortment of salads and breads and ending with a buffet of desserts from The Cake Lady Bakery.

Take a look at the menu, and make sure to get a reservation. You can call 605-271-7500 or use opentable.com.

The traditionalist

If Mom likes to dress up a bit, make an event out of Mother’s Day and be assured that she will love her meal, then you must take her to Minervas.

She can order her favorite salmon salad or seafood crepe and, of course, take a trip through the famous salad bar.

Minervas has rare Sunday hours for Mother’s Day, with the dinner menu served from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and again from 4 to 7 p.m. Reservations are strongly recommended. Call 605-334-0386 or visit opentable.com.

 The multitasker

She’s the soccer mom, the hockey mom, the music mom and so much more. If your mom is the glue of the household who’s always on the go, let her go casual and relax at Grille 26.

A three-course brunch with an array of salads, entrees and desserts will greet Mother’s Day guests from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

the first course features buffet-style salads, including shrimp rotini salad, garden salad, G26 chop salad, fresh fruit, potato salad, Oreo cookie salad, assorted muffins and pastries, and assorted cheeses and crackers.

Guests choose their plated second course with options of salmon cakes benedict, roasted turkey, Jamaican jerk chicken, vegetable linguine, smoked pork chops, blackened salmon, prime rib of beef, three-meat quiche and Denver omelet.

Dessert is a buffet of delicious goodies, featuring a sampling from The Cake Lady of Sioux Falls.

Grille 26 will serve its dinner menu from 4:30 to 9 p.m.

The foodie

If your Mom appreciates plating, white linens and outstanding cuts of meat, you must celebrate Mother’s Day at Morrie’s Steakhouse.

Every meal is a special event at Morrie’s, but Mom will feel especially indulged with a delectable wagyu appetizer, entrees including a pecan bacon-wrapped filet mignon, chicken Florence or pan-seared sea bass and unforgettable desserts like Nanna’s carrot cake.

Morrie’s opens at 5 p.m., and reservations are encouraged. Visit opentable.com or call 605-362-8125.

Happy Mother’s Day from Vanguard Hospitality!
