Sheree Thornsberry, an executive vice president and the head of payments for MetaBank, recently received international recognition for her work in the payments industry.
Thornsberry received the Bronze Stevie Award in the Female Entrepreneur of the Year – Business Services – 11 to 2,500 Employees – Business Services category.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are recognized internationally as among the most prestigious awards for achievement in business. This category specifically recognizes the achievements of women executives and entrepreneurs and the businesses they run.
The name Stevie is taken from the name Stephen, which is derived from the Greek word for “crowned.” The award was created in 2002 to honor the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and professionals worldwide. The Stevie Awards are comprised of several categories recognizing various businesses.
Honorees are chosen by a panel of the world’s most respected executives, entrepreneurs, innovators and business educators. Each of the award programs relies upon the insights and talents of more than 200 judges every year.
“We are very proud of Sheree and the recognition she received,” said MetaBank president Brad Hanson. “She is an amazing innovator and leader. An award of this caliber reinforces what we already know: Sheree is a best-in-class executive at what she does.”
Thornsberry was recognized for her strong instincts when it comes to team motivation and her extensive track record of building successful corporate incentive programs. The combination of this with her drive and focus are what made her stand out as a candidate.
“I’m humbled and honored to be counted among the nominees and recipients of this award,” Thornsberry said. “It’s a privilege to be recognized, and I congratulate my fellow recipients on this accomplishment.”
