The Marina Inn Hotel & Conference Center in South Sioux City is becoming part of Delta Hotels by Marriott.

It’s one of Marriott’s first Delta-branded hotels in the Midwest.

“The Delta Hotels by Marriott South Sioux City Riverfront marks the beginning of a period of exciting growth for the award-wining Delta brand,” said Gregory Durrer, global brand leader of Delta Hotels. “Delta’s design and service enables guests to have a seamless travel experience that allows them to focus on what’s important. It is simple made perfect.”

The Delta Hotels brand started in Canada and is expanding into North America with hotels in Orlando, Baltimore and now South Sioux City. Delta Hotels’ brand is “premium simplicity,” and there are plans to grow globally, with 80 hotels in the pipeline for markets including New York City, Shanghai and London.

Delta in South Sioux City will feature 181 guestrooms and suites, including riverfront rooms with views of the Missouri River.

It will continue to be held by Sioux City businessman John Gleeson, whose family has owned it since 1972.

The hotel will continue to include Kahill’s Steak, Fish & Chophouse.

The brand change is scheduled for September.
