Longtime scrapbook store to close

Aug. 9, 2018

A Sioux Falls store that has provided scrapbooking supplies, workrooms and classes for more than a decade is closing.

R Scrapbook Store started a going-out-of-business sale Wednesday and expects to remain open until the majority of the inventory is gone, according to a post on its website.

“Over the last few years, the scrapbooking industry has really changed as far as vendors merging, digital scrapbooking and online shopping to name a few of the changes,” the post reads. “This was a difficult decision to make.”

Owners Ronna and Scott Sletten bought Scrapbook Den in 2003. They renamed it and built the retail center where it’s located on 41st Street west of Louise Avenue. According to the post, Ronna Sletten and her staff hope that the customers they have served over the years stop by in the coming weeks to stay goodbye.

In addition to supplies, R Scrapbook Store is selling its tables, desks, chairs and displays.

The store is asking customers with gift cards or credit to use them as soon as possible.
