Jacky’s opens in new location

Jan. 10, 2019

Jacky’s Restaurant opened today in the former Taco Bell building on North Cliff Avenue.

It replaces the space that owner Jacky Vanloh leased in a retail center one block south at Benson Road. Vanloh bought the property at 3808 N. Cliff Ave. after Taco Bell closed in May.

The new location features the same menu, lunch buffet and hours as the Benson Road restaurant, general manager Roberto Lopez said.

The restaurant holds seating for 100, which is less than the previous location, but the property has enough room for an addition if the demand is there, Lopez said. He also might add patio seating.

The decor includes a display of mason jars filled with the dry ingredients and spices in Jacky’s recipes. There’s also a display of dolls in traditional dress from different cities in Guatemala, which is Vanloh’s native home.

Lopez expects to draw new customers with the increased visibility of the restaurant. The exterior will be repainted in different colors once warmer weather returns.

Jacky’s has three restaurants, a quick-serve location called Jacky’s Burrito Express and the juice shop Jacky’s Tropical Delights and Juices.
