It’s true: Free s’mores on Thursday. Here’s how to get one.

From staff reports

As if the cookies weren’t enough, Girl Scouts – Dakota Horizons has found another tasty way to connect with the community.

The Girl Scouts will be giving away free s’mores from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at the Dakota Horizons office at 1101 S. Marion Road. You can make your own or hit the s’more drive-thru, plus enter to win free Girl Scout cookies for a year by guessing how many cookies are packed into a car.

It’s in honor of National S’mores Day and as a way to say thank you to the community. More than 900 girls are served in the Sioux Falls area thanks to the Girl Scouts.

“Girl Scout councils across the nation are celebrating the iconic s’more’s 101st anniversary, and we invite everyone to join us,” said Marla Meyer, CEO of Girl Scouts — Dakota Horizons. “This is our way of saying thank you to all of our supporters, sponsors, partners, girls, troop leaders, volunteers and more for helping us build go-getters, risk-takers, innovators and leaders. And who doesn’t enjoy s’mores?”
