Weekend warriors, this is for you.

GreatLIFE Performance & Fitness Center’s latest addition is a new weight area, located in a converted former conference room.

“It’s a showcase room for Dynamic Fitness Equipment. So it’s outfitted with a rig, a half-rack and a power rack, and some other accessories,” manager Randall Hill said. “It’s got monkey bars that go straight across, so you can train indoors on them.”

The new space is behind the group fitness room.

“Members are definitely starting to use it,” Hill said.

The warmer weather also means the Performance Center’s outdoor area at 69th Street and Southeastern Avenue will open soon.

“And that’s got a big 24-foot outdoor rig. We’ve got monkey bars, a rope climb and sleds, and we also have tractor tires and sledge hammers and things like that,” Hill said.

GreatLIFE also added an outdoor climbing wall toward the end of last year.

“It’s a good fit for the weekend warriors, our members who enjoy competing in races,” Hill said. “It’s a great way to train for those events or change up a more traditional workout.”

The new weight area and the outdoor space are open during staffed hours, which are 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends.
