Going-out-of-business sale begins at Toys R Us in Sioux Falls

March 23, 2018

The going-out-of-business sale at Toys R Us on The Empire Mall campus has started.

An employee said the last day is expected to be May 15. Merchandise is marked down from 5 percent to 30 percent. Most toys are 10 percent off at this point. Video games and consoles are 5 percent off; clothing, educational toys and Easter and Valentine’s Day items are 20 percent off. Customers will find 30 percent off stuffed animals, other seasonal merchandise, cards and wrapping paper.

Earlier this month, the retailer filed a motion seeking U.S. Bankruptcy Court approval to begin winding down its U.S. business and liquidating inventory. The company filed for bankruptcy last year and planned to reorganize operations, but lackluster holiday sales forced the latest move.
