Golf in the dark at a new event Saturday, June 17, from GreatLIFE Golf & Fitness.

Rocky Run Golf Course in Dell Rapids will be filled with glow sticks starting about 9:15 p.m. About 45 sticks will line each of the nine fairways, with glow tee markers and flag sticks helping light the way, too.

“A lot of places outside Sioux Falls have done it, and we’re going to give it a shot. It should be awesome,” head golf professional Steve Klock said.

Each player will receive two LED glow balls, and players will compete as foursomes.

“It will take about two and a half hours to play, and we’ll have prizes. The whole golf course is going to have glow elements,” Klock said. “If we continue to have high demand, we’ll expand teams.”

A DJ will play in the clubhouse following the event, and the bar will be open late. The cost is $30 per player, which includes the glow balls and entertainment. Regular cart and green fees apply, but GreatLIFE members don’t have to pay green fees.
