Forbes names Sioux Falls top for business and careers

Sioux Falls has been named the nation’s top small city for business and careers by Forbes.

The publication measured job growth, where the Sioux Falls metro area ranked No. 33 with 1.4 percent annual job growth and 0.9 percent projected annual job growth, cost of doing business and education. Sioux Falls ranked No. 44 in both of the latter categories.

Forbes reported 32.2 percent of Sioux Falls-area residents have a college degree. The cost of living is 2 percent below the national average, it said. The area had positive net migration of 400 people in 2017.

Layfayette, Ind., ranked second and College Station, Texas, was third.
