First Premier Bank buys downtown property

July 16, 2018

First Premier Bank, through a related entity, has bought the long-vacant northeast corner of 14th Street and Minnesota Avenue.

The bank “views this as a strategic land acquisition that will position our organization for continued growth well into the future,” president Dave Rozenboom said in a statement.

The property was owned by an entity connected to Stockwell Engineers.

The bank has not established a specific timeline for developing the site and is in the process of exploring its options, he said.

“We are excited about the potential of this location at the gateway to downtown Sioux Falls and the excellent visibility and ease of access it provides,” Rozenboom said.

The bank’s main office is located on the southwest corner of the intersection.

First Premier has 18 locations throughout eastern South Dakota. It has grown from $200 million in assets in 1995 to more than $1.8 billion and has 370 employees.
