Downtown salon to expand

March 20, 2019

Atoley Salon is moving into a neighboring downtown space with more room.

The salon is moving from 317 S. Phillips Ave. to 319 S. Phillips Ave., which used to be Acorn19-Bead Co.

“We have been on the edge of needing more space,” owner Liz Erickson said. “The extra space is great for future growth for both the salon and spa. Being able to have them connected and all of us in one space will help cross-promote all the services that we can offer.”

Spa by Atoley is next door at 321 S. Phillips Ave. and the plan is to add a doorway connecting the two.

The expanded salon will go from four chairs and five to seven stylists to 10 styling stations plus a shampoo and processing room.

“It will be very fresh, clean and welcoming,” Erickson said.

“There is a decent amount of construction. We are renovating the whole space so it has a fresh new look to it and flows well with the spa decor.”

The plan is to have it done this summer. The current salon space, which is 550 square feet, then will be available to lease.

Atoley also will be hiring at the salon and spa. Positions include estheticians, nail technicians, stylists, guest services, massage therapy and social media management. Applicants can find out more at atoley.com.

Erickson founded Atoley in 2009 and moved to Phillips Avenue in 2012. She added Spa by Atoley in 2017.
