JOB SUMMARY

The director of nursing inpatient is responsible for providing clinical and administrative leadership to assigned departments to maintain standards of patient care. Takes responsibility for the overall quality of care provided by nursing personnel. Advises medical staff, department leaders and administrators in matters related to nursing service and strategies. Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Monitors the operations of the nursing staff, and ensures compliance with regulations on organizational and governmental standards and practices. Participates in task forces, committees and board meetings to assist with the overall organizational goals and strategic initiatives. Reviews and consults on strategic plans in collaboration with leadership and nursing units.
