Dawley Farm hotel under construction

May 20, 2019

The new Glo hotel at Dawley Farm Village has started construction on a four-story building that will be one of the first of its kind in the country.

Glo is a new addition to Best Western Hotels & Resorts. It markets itself as an “energetic concept (that) breaks the cookie-cutter hotel mold” with sleek, modern finishes accented with bold pops of color.

The Dawley Farm property will have 79 rooms. It’s being developed by Makenda LLC, which is based in Madison and managed by Birch Lake Hospitality.

“Now that winter is behind us, we will be vertical, and you should see a lot of progress,” Makenda vice president Rod Lindquist said.

“We are looking at opening this December.”

The lobby will provide space to socialize, work or have breakfast.

Amenities include:

  • Complimentary breakfast.
  • In-room work desk with signature Herman Miller desk chair.
  • In-room coffee and tea maker.
  • Gel-topped signature mattress.
  • Stylish bath amenities.
  • Complimentary high-speed internet.
  • Fitness center.
  • Business area.
  • Wireless, secured printing in the public area.
  • On-site guest laundry and same-day dry cleaning services.

The Sioux Falls location will include an indoor pool with large, full-view, operable glass doors, allowing for outside use in the late spring through early fall.

Glo will be along 18th Street to the west of Sherwin-Williams.
