Co-op turns leftovers into fundraiser dinner tonight

Aug. 15, 2018

The Co-op Natural Foods is turning its leftover block party food into a fundraiser meal.

The health food grocery store at 18th Street and Minnesota Avenue will serve a $3 dinner from 5 to 8 tonight.

Proceeds will go to the St. Francis House, an ecumenical ministry that helps those who are homeless become self-sufficient. The nonprofit is in the midst of a fundraising campaign to build a $5.5 million center that will have 120 beds.

The meal will include vegan chili, beef chili, cornbread and “possibly some other goodies.” All items are gluten-free.

The co-op hosted its third annual block party Saturday.
