Citibank made what it called a small reduction in jobs at its Sioux Falls office this week.

The positions were in Citi’s Global Consumer Bank.

“To align staffing with current business needs, Citi is eliminating a small number of positions in Sioux Falls,” according to Megan Corbet, Citi public affairs executive.

“We encourage affected employees to explore other employment opportunities at Citi and will provide outplacement services and other benefits for those affected.”

The company did not provide the number of positions eliminated.

One year ago, when the company announced it was building a new Sioux Falls operations center, it reported about 1,600 people worked at its northeast Sioux Falls campus and an additional 200 staff members worked from home.

The new building in southwest Sioux Falls is expected to be done by the end of the year.
