What brought you to Sioux Falls?
I completed my undergrad and JD at USD, so I was able to make several connections in the Sioux Falls area throughout my education, including members of the South Dakota Bar Association. Also, I have always been attracted to larger cities because of their energy and opportunities. I see Sioux Falls as offering both. Sioux Falls is also home to many of my friends and close to my family, so it was a natural choice.
What keeps you in Sioux Falls?
In addition to its location, I love how much Sioux Falls is growing and constantly changing. Downtown seems to be continually renovated to give it more of a big-city feel.
What’s your favorite thing about your job?
Being able to help my clients is the most rewarding aspect of my job, without a doubt.
How did you get connected to your industry?
There was a murder trial in my hometown while I was in high school. I was able to sit in on jury selection all the way through sentencing. I found the entire process fascinating and, ever since, have been doing everything I can to get in the courtroom.
Describe Woods Fuller in three words.
Challenging, professional, dedicated.
What’s one business you’d like to see in Sioux Falls that isn’t here now?
Chick-fil-A.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I see myself continuing to refine my practice at Woods Fuller and hopefully starting to specialize in a specific area of civil litigation. I look forward to learning as much as I can and building on my skills. I look forward to working with the incredible people at Woods Fuller.
