Approaching its opening, Cowboy Chicken begins hiring

Cowboy Chicken has started hiring for its first restaurant in Sioux Falls, which is expected to open in mid-January.

The restaurant is leasing space at 2700 W. 41st St., next to Great Western Bank. It expects to hire 4o to 50 people as line and prep cooks, cashiers/guest ambassadors and delivery drivers. Training will start the week of Jan. 8, according to a spokeswoman for the company. To apply, visit cowboychicken.com.

Cowboy Chicken is a national chain that started in Dallas in 1991. The Sioux Falls restaurant is owned by Franchise Restaurant Concepts Group, which is opening 14 franchised locations across South Dakota, Iowa and Kansas.

The restaurant serves all-natural, hormone-free rotisserie chickens that are hand-seasoned in store, marinated for 24 hours and then roasted for two hours over a wood-burning fire. Other dishes include  sour cream tomatillo chicken enchiladas and scratch-made sides such as Twice Baked Potaters, baked mac and cheese and Ranchero Beans. Seasonal cobblers are baked in-house daily. Catering and delivery service will be available.

It will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
